CV Tip - Keep your CV short and to the point

Every time an employer advertises a vacancy you can guarantee they will get hundreds if not thousands of replies. So ask yourself this, if you were in their shoes, are you going to be reading each and every CV thoroughly? Obviously not, that means they will be skimming through them for anything that springs out.

So if your CV is 5 pages long that makes it all the more difficult for them to see what sets you apart from the rest. Make sure your CV doesn’t go beyond 2 pages, you want all your experience and skills which are relevant to the job you are applying to almost leap from the page. So don’t hide all this in between a barrage of words, keep it short and sweet.

If you find that your simply cant keep your CV under 2 pages then check and recheck that you haven’t got any irrelevant information in there. And if you really cant bear to part with anything, you should think about getting a blog and using that as an additional resource that you can point the employer to if they want to know more about you
